The Isle of Chandra

Season 2 : Episode 3


The group hurriedly tries to catch each other up with what they all witnessed since the portal jump while Eric goes over the parties’ injuries. As they start to make a plan of where to rest up, they hear a huge smash through the roof and look up to see a dragon has ripped a hole in the church ceiling. Eric casts ‘Talk With Animals’ to seek peace with the beast, but instantly recognises Alizar’s voice; clearly he is a very powerful magic user in yet another form.

“There shall be no mercy!” shrieks the dragon. The creature opens its jaws and a faint green glow can be seen from the back of its gapping mouth. The group disperses from the centre of the building; Aramel, Eric, Max and Milly heading for the locked sidedoor and Evangeline, Amber and Cloud heading for the destroyed main entrance. Only Elord is left in the centre, firing as many arrows as his bow can manage, straight up at the creature. As the half-elf is obviously doing very little damage on the rough scaly hide, Alizar breaths a pile of acid into the building, somehow mostly missing Elord. While Elord is firing off arrows, two at a time, the dragon takes to the sky and flies straight up to the heavens.

At this point half the adventurers are outside and in a brief moment of calm they look around and notice that all the snow has melted, and within just a couple of hours it appears to have changed season in the town. The other half wait on Aramel to un-pick the lock. While the ranger struggles, Eric calls Elord to get away from the middle of the church, but even as the acid drenched pews melt around him, Elord’s only focus is shooting Alizar. While the free group of adventurers sprint towards the nearest house and dive in (literally for Cloud), Aramel curses at the locked side door and the trapped adventurers begin trying to break it down. The little hobbit appears to budge it significantly more than the sturdy dwarf, but it is Max who brings it down. Not really aware what he is trying to do, he places his palms against the wood, then, like and explosion, the doors shoot off. Though the adventurers are amazed by the child’s powers (Max included), they do not hesitate to escape the church, only Eric turns as is about the cross the threshold. “Elord! We have to leave now!” he yells, but the half-elf still pay no attention.

As the adventurers outside look up, they can see Alizar spin around at a great height, streamlines his body, and shoots back down to the building like a dart. Meanwhile, Eric runs back into the building towards Elord, who has drawn a single arrow but now holds it position. The cleric pleads him to run one last time, but to no avail, so moves to grab him. Elord throws off the old dwarf to the ground without a word and turns his bow back to the dragon. As he nears the building, Alizar again opens his jaws; Elord sees the glowing target he has been waiting for and lets his arrow fly. The arrow finds the back of the Allizar’s throat, the dragon winces, and plummets onto the pair still inside the church.

Quite probably due to Elord’s arrow causing the beast to slightly change its course at the last second, Eric and Elord find themselves still breathing. Unfortunately, so does the dragon. Alizar rises to his feet and swings at Elord, throwing him across the room, then turns to Eric. “You know, I almost don’t want to kill you. You have great honour, which is rare to find these days, remember that.”
“You don’t have to kill us, there can still be a peaceful way out.” cries Eric.
“I said almost. It is too late to spare you now.”
“What is it you want?” the dwarf yells, but the dragon already has its mouth open, to yet again reveal the haunting glow. That second, a bolt impales the monster’s hide as he turns around to see Aramel by the side door with his cross bow pistol raised. Realising he is surrounded, Alizar spreads his wings but it is apparent he is too weak to fly. Elord, back on his feet again, fires another pair of arrows at Alizar, just before the dragon charges at the nearest wall creating his own horizontal exit.

The beast turns back to the building and with a clear shot at Elord through the destroyed wall, spits a ball of acid at him. Dropping to the floor, Elord avoids the green goo and it continues to fly and instantly starts to melt away yet another hole as it hits the wall. The shoot-out between Elord and Alizar doesn’t last long before the dragon is jumped on by Aramel. The ranger had snuck round the side of the church and now, clutching to his dagger imbedded in the dragon for stability, he slashes away with his sword in his other hand.

In the pause in acid fire, Eric finally convinces Elord to leave the dragon and they head towards the acid hole in the wall. However, as the run across the church, Alizar flings off Aramel and fires another burning green ball of acid, this time hitting Elord square on just as he is diving through the hole. After diving through the acid hole, Eric looks up to see the rest of the group running over. Eric manages to stop the now unconscious Elord’s wounds from getting any worse, but does not have the power to do anymore right now. An idea comes to Eric and he picks up Elord (a task much easier when the half-elf is knocked-out) and asks the rest of the group where Max is, to which they point at the building with the Cloud shaped hole in the window. Eric rushes in to find Max on his own and places the body in front of him. He tells the child that Elord needs healing and Max does have the power hidden inside him, just as he smashed through the side door earlier, but Max just looks terrified and claims he has no idea how he achieved that magical strength. Eventually Eric convinces him to place his hands on the half-elf, but as Eric realistically thought, Max is unable to help.

As Eric leaves, he tells Max that he must be brave and guard Elord, then runs back over to the holey building to see Cloud still outside throwing spears through the acid hole. Eric calls him over to make plans of an assault, but suddenly there is a booming whoosh sound and they look up to see Alizar has leapt over the whole building. He lands upon Cloud, but Eric cannot tell what is happening amongst the flapping wings; until they jolt … and stop moving. There is another blinding flash of light.

Once the flash settles, the group see Cloud still alive lying on the floor with his sword, covered in a dark green goo, in his hand. To his side is the HERS ring Evangeline had previously stolen and next to that is a man, which the group believe to be Alizar in his true form.

Season 2 : Episode 2


Amber comes through the portal with two of Tyrion’s pike men. She is suspicious of them at first, but they seem pretty decent. Still, she decides to leave them as bait to get eaten by zombies while she runs away. Amber goes to the mansion and inside comes across a dark figure who gives her a beautiful sword. The figure tells her it will help her defeat the evil that currently claims this land.

Eric, Evangeline, Milly, Aramel & Max
Aramel breaks through the surrounding spirits with Max close behind. The two of them make it to the nearest wall and his idea has worked perfectly. As the spirits pass through their opponent when attacking, standing next to a wall means the spirits can do them no harm. In reaction to this Milly heads to the opposite wall and when she arrives she finally tries on the HIS ring. As she puts it on it looses its glow, but not much else happens. She takes it off and puts it back on again and all that seems to happen is it has a magical liquid-like glow when removed, and appear to be a solid metal when worn. She leaves it on to not loose it and notices that the spirits are now moving ever so slightly more fluidly, their movement is not quite as … teleport-y. Meanwhile, collapsing in the middle of the church is Evangeline, who, remaining in the centre on her own, has suffered so much pain she almost falls unconscious. A spirit next to her starts to grow and Eric notices Alizar is no longer on his perch. The spirit keeps growing and takes the form of the flesh-hulk. He grabs Evangeline by the throat and raises her in the air. Eric sees this and attempts to run to her aid; but falls over a pew. Aramel fires a bolt at Alizar’s hand, forcing him to drop Evangeline. Milly gets collatoral with a mighty throw of her favourite axe. It imbeds into Alizar’s chest after passing through one of the spirits waiting by her near the wall. Eric attempts to run to Evangeline’s aid with his healing powers; but falls over a pew. Evangeline struggles to her feet having just withheld from falling unconscious and with all her remaining strength drives her trident into Alizar’s side, brining the flesh-hulk to his knees. While on the floor, Alizar notices the HERS ring and grabs it. He then brings himself to his feet, quite clearly in pain, yanks out the trident and, like a bullet, hurls it at Evangeline two feet away. Somehow he misses and it shatters the bench next to her. Aramel and Milly sink another couple of bolts in to Alizar and Eric finally gets close enough to cast Hold Person on Alizar, which appears to disturb part of him but definitely doesn’t hold him. In a scream of rage and pain Alizar shouts “You shall regret this day!” and a flash of blinding white light fills the room.

Amber, Cloud & Elord
The boys meet up with Amber and they head over to the church. On the way, Cloud redeems his previous mishap of falling off a table by decapitating a zombie by throwing his shield at it. When they get to the church the front door is locked. They can hear combat inside so try to break down the door. Cloud nearly breaks his leg. They eventually break through the door and are hit by a flash of blinding white light.

Amber, Cloud, Elord, Eric, Evangeline, Milly, Aramel & Max
As the light settles, the adventurers find the flesh-hulk and all the spirits have disappeared, leaving a pile of bolts and Milly’s throwing axe. The two groups rush together and all those that jumped the portal are reunited (well, except for John and Veridian … and Tyrion … and the pike men). The adventurers just start to exchange stories as they think they have a break when they hear a chilling screech and a shuddering swoosh from above the church.

Season 2 : Episode 1


After jumping through the portal at different times, each of the adventurers find themselves waking up in groups and try to figure out where they are and where the rest of the gang is.

Cloud wakes up and goes to the mansion. He falls off a table.

Evangeline, Milly, John & Veridian
They wake up and decide to walk around the church. Evangeline and Milly go left while John and Veridian go right.

Evangeline & Milly
The come across zombies. Milly picks the lock on the side door. They both get inside and Milly locks the door behind them. The two decide to explore to church. In a room they find a ring, with a feminine design to it. Evangeline steals it. Leaving the room they come across a man in a Sunday suit. Evangeline attempts to attack him but he teleports back a couple of yards. They assume he must be a spirit of some kind and he bothers them no further. They move on and find a room with two thrones and a suit of armour on each seat (one for a man and one for a woman). Evangeline tries to steal the crown atop the male armour but instead she is thrown into a memory that is not hers. She appears to be in the body of what is assumed to be the king, who is addressing a busy church hall. Suddenly the king is jolted and Evangeline’s vision ends. She is back in the room with Milly. Evangeline believes the king was stabbed, and realises that she too has been stabbed, but there is no knife. They heal the wound as best they can and continue to another room, where there is another ring, this time with a masculine style. Milly steals it. Further exploring the church they find a large room with a scroll in. While trying to read the scroll Content Not Found: big_alizar enters the room, resembling that of a flesh-coloured Hulk, and attacks them. The two girls run out and lock the creature inside. There is a loud clatter from the room behind them, then a knocking from elsewhere in the church. They following knocking and think they can hear Eric’s voice too. They figure out it is coming from the side door they entered the church through but while going through the main church hall the see it is now full with men and women, looking like they’re attending church. They appear to have the same neutral presence as the spirit they encountered before. Milly runs to the door and unlocks it and throws it open to see Eric, Aramel and Max together surrounded by zombies on all sides, but the zombies seem to not be able to get any closer to Eric’s Sign of Moradin he holds high in the air. With a smug look on his face Eric says, “Check this shit out.”

Elord didn’t do much. He probably went to the mansion looking for lasers and found zombies instead.

Eric, Aramel & Max
After jumping through the portal, the trio are glad to find they all made it safetly without injury. After taking in their surroundings they decide the large church would be the most likely place for their party to re-group at. Deciding to search the perimeter rather than going through the front door, they find a small stench of zombies crowded round a side door. Aramel dispatches half of them while Eric learns more about his talents at turning the un-dead and that when an undead cannot move, but is too close to a cleric’s holy symbol, the magic controlling the corpse leaves the body and it becomes unanimated again. At this point, Max has spotted a much larger stench approaching so the three adventurers head for the side door. Aramel fails to pick the lock several times but when Eric hears a clatter from inside the church he begins slamming on the door. As the zombies approach Eric gets his Sonnlinor symbol out again and shows it to the stench.

Cloud & Elord
The boys meet up. Cloud finds a suit of armour with feathers and the magical ability to make him look really gay.

Eric, Evangeline, Milly, Aramel & Max
Eric, Aramel & Max all run inside and Milly locks the door behind them, however this time the door locks permanently as Milly’s talents without the key finally find their limit. The ladies explain the layout of the church a bit and how they found the throne room with the suits of armour and Evangeline’s vision as well as the scroll and the flesh-hulk that had been causing the clatter earlier. However, the men seem more distracted and concerned by the spirits in the room. The girls inform that they’re harmless and one just teleported away when they tried to hit it earlier but Eric still tries to communicate with them. They aren’t very helpful with describing where they are or what’s going on, but they keep saying, “They stole them.” Eric comes to realise that the girls have stolen the HIS and HERS rings and he tells the girls to give the rings back. When Evangeline puts the HERS ring on the floor the spirits change, now in armour and with weapons drawn. Till this point the voice of the spirits had been a haze from all directions, but the voice focuses to a single point from the opposite side of the church and hanging from the top of a plinth is the flesh-hulk, who declares his name is Alizar. The spirits jump to surround the adventurers, at which point Aramel immediately puts Max protected in the middle of the adventurers. Eric gets out his Sonnlinor trinket to attempt to turn the spirits, but Alizar just laughs at this and the fight begins. Eric instantly breaks free of the group to charge at the plinth Alizar is stood upon. The group manages to slay a couple of the spirits and notices that the spirits’ reaction are completely different to the injuries the adventurers deal them, as if they were re-living some previous death. However, the adventurers are quite clearly being overwhelmed.

Where Heroes Begin
Season 1 - recap

In the land of Dragolin, little did our adventurers know what they were about to embark on when they joined a duo with some precious cargo that needed protection. Some did it for adventure, others for glory and for some it was all they knew.

Escaping from captivity after an ambush to get the cargo, our adventurers were unknowingly aided by a doppelganger who let them live so long as he was able to take revenge for the loss of his family.

Running into a routine recruitment run for gifted youngsters who were to become great magic users at the academy of Thundra, our heroes joined forces with some more adventurers who also thought they were to live a simple life.

Arriving at Thundra to find it under siege, our heroes made a call to arms and with the help of the magic users, they fought off the invading bandits… But they were just a diversion.

Framed for the theft of the Staff of Zambar, our heroes had to break out of prison, retrieve the Staff and clear their names. Making friends and enemies along the way, they finally came face to face with their adversary on the waters surrounding the southern shores of Dragolin – Tyrion, a traitor from Thundra.

Even with the help of their new found allies they couldn’t stop Tyrion with the power of the Staff of Zambar, allowing him to escape into a mysterious portal. Following their foe through the portal to escape the sinking ships, our heroes find themselves in a mysterious city where a thick layer of snow has settled and its occupants are nowhere to be seen…
